Individual Career Counseling

Imagine individual attention devoted solely to you and your questions about careers, internships, graduate or professional school, grad and professional students considering non-academic careers, or making the transition from student to professional.  Career counselors will help you clarify your goals, explore personal concerns, and develop an individualized career plan.

Career Assessments

The following assessments can help you generate career options based on your interests, skills, values, and personality traits. Career Counseling and Support Services' individualized interpretation format will add clarity to your results. The fee range of these measurements is from $5 to $35; fees are for cost recovery only. These assessments measure interests, confidence in skills, confidence in abilities, values, and personality types in relation to career choices

Career Counseling and Support Services will accept personal checks and Buck-ID for career assessment services. All other services are free. No credit cards or cash are accepted.

Group Career Counseling

Connecting with other students who share similar concerns is a unique way to generate solutions and strategies for your career-related questions.  A variety of programs ranging from how majors related to careers to job search strategies are available every semester.

ESCE 2272

Is a career development class available to any OSU student.  Course content includes self exploration, strategies/processes to clarify majors and career selection, improve decision-making skills, learn strategies for internship and job searches, learn how to write a resume and job search letters, negotiate salary, transition to the job market, apply to graduate school and have successful interviews!  Students will have the opportunity to meet individually with the instructor to discuss their career development process and receive a personalized approach to their career related questions. Class is offered during Fall, Spring and May Session

OnPACE

A series of self-guided career modules that can assist you in learning more about yourself and choosing a major(s)/careers, applying to grad school, and preparing to enter the workforce as a responsible, global citizen. Manage and complete each module based on your career needs and/or following a step by step approach. Visit http://onpace.osu.edu/

Job Campaign Assistance

The Career Counselor and Support Services staff can help you develop the tools (résumés, vitae, and cover letters) that you need to promote yourself to employers.  Additionally, we can help you improve your interviewing skills through role plays and videotaped mock interviews.

Career Related Outreach and Workshops to The Ohio State Community

You can request an outreach and/or workshop for your class, department, or organization by calling 688-3898 and discussing with a counselor your interests in such an activity.  To accommodate your request, we appreciate notification at least one month in advance.

Walk-In Hours

Walk-in hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays  1:00 - 3:00 PM and Wednesdays and Fridays  9:00 - 11:00 AM. Last walk-in is taken half hour prior to the walk-in ending time.
